  • Watershed project

Aracruz Celulose created the Watershed Project in 1993 in order to study the eucalyptus tree and how it interacts with native Atlantic Forest reserves and the environment on a 286-hectare area located in Aracruz, Espírito Santo.

Environmental monitoring of a complete eucalyptus crop cycle is conducted in this area, which reproduces a number of forestry environments operated by the company.

  • Forestry partners

Created in 1990, Aracruz's Forestry Partners Program currently encompasses nearly 3,000 contracts and 158 municipalities, of which 65 in Espírito Santo, 40 in Minas Gerais, 14 in Bahia, 26 in Rio Grande do Sul and 13 in Rio de Janeiro.

Some 81,000 hectares are under contract, of which more than 73,000 already have been planted in eucalyptus, with the average planting area per contract totaling 24.2 hectares. See the hotsite.
