Environmental actions

In the environmental area, we identified the need to work with more wide-ranging targets, less concerned with managerial aspects and more related to the direct impacts on stakeholders.

Although most of the proposed objectives were achieved in full, some projects were cancelled due to operational changes, which made them inapplicable. Delays in the implementation of some actions means these are scheduled to continue into 2005.

Of particular note was the installation of various kinds of environmental protection equipment at the Guaíba Unit plant, an investment of US$2.3 million.
