Relationship with stakeholders

Image and relationships

To support a productive dialogue with the communities, the press and local authorities in the areas in which we conduct forestry activities, we held the First Seminar on Communication, Relationship and Image in Espírito Santo in December. Some 35 production and wood supply managers and technicians attended, including participants in the Forestry Partners Program.

Aracruz performs systematic opinion surveys to evaluate its image in the communities where the Company is most directly active and has monitored its exposure in the press since 1998. The charts shown below present the results of these initiatives. The attributes related to economic and social factors, such as the generation of income and employment, support for social projects and relationships with the community, all helping enhance the image of Aracruz. Environmental issues, such as the pollution of the air, the ocean and odors are responsible for the negative perceptions of the Company.

The mentions are considered positive when they report on positive issues or those of interest to the Company. The negative reports are those in which the Company is cited in an unfavorable context (such as financial losses, environmental questions among others) or in which there was no response to neutralize or negate the content.
