Social action | Education

Objective: to support professional training and the teaching and apprenticeship process

  • Employee level of schooling: 218 employees participated in the Arcel Educar program to raise the level of education, in partnership with the Brazilian Education Foundation (FUBRAE).
  • Teacher training: 671 teachers certified, achieving the goal of training 100% of early school education teachers in the 10 municipalities of the Formar Project in 2004.
  • Primary and secondary school education: 1,634 students, the children of employees, outsourced workers and others at Aracruz, were the beneficiaries of a partnership with the Colégio Pitágoras and the Coqueiral Association for Parents and Teachers. Also in ES, in a joint action with other companies and institutions, a university qualification course was offered to 1,100 students from public high schools and low-income families (up to three times the minimum wage), to prepare them for the entrance exam for the Federal or State University. In Rio Grande do Sul, we sponsored the distribution of 360,000 school notebooks to 120,000 students in the public school system of Guaíba and another 23 municipalities where the Company has operations.
  • Professional training and digital inclusion: the computer rooms, Internet modules over the radio project and professional courses in the Digital Space and Student of the Future Projects, provide services to 2,760 people in ES and the south of Bahia. The Guaíba Unit’s Workshop Project graduated its seventh class of 10 students while more than 30 technicians received diplomas from the Gomes Jardim Education Institute.
  • University training: 41 indigenous students received Aracruz scholarships for courses in Education, Administration, Foreign Trade, Chemical Engineering, Architecture, Literature, Nursing, Accounting and Secretarial courses.
