Social action | Volunteer Program

2004 marked the first year of the Aracruz Volunteer Program, set up to encourage the Company’s employees to exercise citizenship and social responsibility.

Aracruz provides training courses in volunteer work for its employees and their families. Four volunteer training courses were held during the year, involving 65 people.

Company volunteers carried out a total of 78 actions in 2004, benefiting 11,822 people. The actions included support for asylums and orphanages, environmental education programs, a support group for hospital in-patients and the Christmas Solidarity campaign, which raised more than 28 tons of food to be donated to 2,000 needy families.
